Nathaniel Lin is the Chief Data Scientist at the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association). He joined NFPA in 9/2015 to head up the data analytics transformation strategy. Nathaniel is widely recognized as an expert and thought leader in the application of data and analytics to solve business challenges. At NFPA, he is responsible in building the data analytics center of excellence and developing data analytics solutions and knowledge assets. Before NFPA, he spent more than 20 years delivering innovative analytics solutions to diverse global businesses in technology, finance, insurance, automotive, telecommunications, retail and hospitality. Companies that he served as a senior executive (Director, VP or President) include IBM, Fidelity Investments, OgilvyOne, Aspen Marketing Analytics (later sold to Epsilon), AT&T, Toyota, GM, Ahold USA. For more than a decade, Nathaniel has been passionate in teaching advanced analytics at major business schools as an Adjunct Professor, including Georgia Tech, Boston College and Bentley University. Nathaniel has a PHD in Engineering from the UK and an MBA jointly awarded by the MIT School of Engineering and Sloan School of Management. He recently written a book on Applied Business Analytics published by Financial Times / Pearson Press.
